Morning Habits To Boost Your Energy

Morning Habits

We've all had those days when we wake up early and get things done within 2 hours, and by the time you check your to-do list, you've done more in 120 minutes than you do in some days. It always feels good when we get so much done in very little time. Secretly, we all envy morning people.

Those set of people with superpowers who are very focused and energetic in the morning.

Some of us better at staying awake all through the night than we are at getting up early to work. I often try to get up early, but the moment the alarm goes off, I find myself in a sleep haze a second after.

Waking up early in the morning is great, but it’s only worth if you can get stuff done. If you find yourself struggling to pick out words or you keep staring at the same sentence for too many time, you're better off going back to sleep.

In this article, we’ll look at a couple of early morning rituals that you can practice to boost your energy in the morning.

Your Heading Here

1. Stretching

Start your mornings with stretching. Stretching is the easiest way to get the blood flowing when you wake up in the morning.

The body might be awake, but the body might still be in sleep mode. That's where stretching comes in as it gets your body out of the mental fog in the morning.

One way of stretching out is by engaging in yoga. Bring out a yoga mat or a blanket, if you have none. If you really can't commit to stretching often, basic stretches will do.

Lift up your arms and stretch them across your body, also stretch your legs out in front of you. Turn your neck from side to side to boost your energy before going out.

2. Drink More Water

Once you get that positive energy flowing, your body will need a lot of water. This is one way of waking up on the inside.

Scientists have found out that drinking a glass of water in the morning is a great way to start the day and it’s best you do this before you eat anything in the morning.

This is also important for days when you’re going to hit the beach and you’re unsure of how much water you should consume.

According to, the best form of defense against the weather elements is a combination of mineral sunscreen and water.

If you don't like taking plain water, you can blend it up with lemon or berries, but if you're like me and you fancy a little bit of adventure, you can add a splash of apple cider vinegar into your water to aid digestion and keep you energized all day long.

3. Stay Calm

I've heard a lot of people talk about why they don't like to engage in meditation in the morning and the reason often points to them thinking they will fall asleep.

Nothing can be further from the truth. There are so many ways meditation can help especially with starting your day and boosting your energy.

Try to meditate in the morning so your mind can settle down to a calm state. This way your mind can digest your thoughts rather than you pushing them out of your head.

The key to meditation is to be comfortable so you can focus on your mind and not your body. So, ensure you get a comfortable position with hands on your lap so you can relax and meditate the right way.

After your quiet time with yourself, you’ll find that your mind will be cleared and you’ll find it easy to go back to sleep.

4. Health Shots

Drinking a healthy shot can help you boost your energy. Health shots such as wheatgrass shots and turmeric tonics are not delicious but they work wonders for your health and can help you boost your energy levels.

Wheatgrass shots are recommended because they are packed full of vitamins and minerals which are an excellent source of energy.

Drinking well and exercising frequently are both critical for living a more robust and fitter lifestyle.

Currently, I take a shot of turmeric tonic which comprises of turmeric, ginger and sour cherries and it makes me energized and ready to lead and take on my day every time I consume it.

5. Keep Away From Your Phone

When you wake up and you're searching for ways to perfect your mornings so you can boost your energy, then you need to learn how to spend time without your phone.

Checking emails, Instagram or Facebook puts you in a reactive mode and it means your morning reacts to what others dictate rather than what you want.

This is one surefire way of losing direction in the morning as it creates anxiety and makes you frantic and drains you at the end of the day. Leave your phone on the nightstand or even in another room until you've completed your morning rituals.

Focus on yourself for 30 minutes in the morning to boost your energy, and then, you can read your emails and respond to missed calls.

These are some of the morning habits you can use to boost your energy levels in the morning. The way you start your morning can make or break your day.

Starting off strategically allows you to make better decisions before the close of business.

You need to focus more on things that matter to you, rather than reacting to what others are saying which leaves you unfocused and unhealthy all through the week.
